Jennifer H. Smith
Jennifer is currently a Spanish teacher at The Gailer School in Middlebury. This is her second year teaching there. Prior to Gailer, she created a Spanish program for grades 2-6 at St. Mary's in Middlebury. She taught Spanish for 10 years to grades 7-12 in the New York State Public Schools before moving to Vermont. She received a B.S. in Secondary Education/ Spanish from SUNY Plattsburgh in 1991 and a M.S. in Education/Reading from SUNY Cortland in 1996.
She lives in Middlebury with her husband Joseph, her 10 year-old daughter Harper and her 7 year-old son Spencer. She enjoys being an active member of the community, volunteering at school and church. Her interests include writing, reading, skiing, traveling, decorating and cooking. During the winter months, she can be found playing hockey with her family on the neighborhood ice rink that her husband builds every year. Her life goal is to try something new every year.
