Jessica G. Allen

Jessica comes most recently from Detroit, Michigan where she worked as an arts fundraiser for the Detroit Symphony Orchestra and as the Music Director for the University United Methodist Church in East Lansing.

She earned a B.S. in Music and Public Relations from John Brown University in 2001 and an M.M. in Choral Conducting from Michigan State University in 2004. She has experience as a soprano soloist, professional chorister and conductor and has held leadership positions with church and community choirs for the past 10 years.

After moving to Middlebury in June 2007 with her husband, Jeffrey Buettner, Jessica accepted a position with Middlebury College as Assistant Director of Annual Giving and became Choir Director for the Congregational Church in October, 2007.

In addition to her work with the college and church, Jessica currently volunteers as a vocal coach for middle and high school singers from all over Vermont that are involved in the Vermont Youth Orchestra Chorus and Chorale.

Whenever she can, Jessica enjoys baking, taking voice lessons, learning to play the organ, gardening, shopping, traveling and gathering bright, colorful fabrics for quilting.

Jessica is particularly interested in recruiting new members for the choir at the church. Please contact her at jessallenemail@yahoo.com if you would like to know more about being a part, even on a short-term basis. High school students are also welcome to join.
