Scott Atherton

Recently appointed as Assistant Director of Admissions at Middlebury College, Scott worked for twelve years at the Salzburg Seminar in Middlebury in a variety of program and fundraising capacities. Prior to the Seminar, he worked in farm conservation and affordable housing at the Addison County Community Trust. In addition his position at Middlebury College, Scott is a part time announcer on Vermont Public Radio.

Scott received his B.A. in anthropology from Harvard University in 1979, and upon graduation was awarded a Michael Rockefeller Memorial Fellowship. He spent 1980-83 as a Rockefeller Fellow living and working in Israel. Scott serves on the boards of Cirkus Smirkus and the Mt. Independence Historic Site. He is the father of Nick (16) and Mira (12). His interests include music, Nordic skiing, bicycling, food and wine, and traveling.
