Columbarium

The beautifully landscaped setting provides an atmosphere of peace and tranquility to reflect, grieve, honor, and celebrate loved ones.

The Columbarium is a church ministry. The events of Christian life are celebrated in churches. New life is celebrated at baptism. A life of loving commitment is celebrated in marriage. The bread of life is shared in Holy Communion. The life of faith is celebrated in the burial sites of the church. Offering a columbarium fulfills the church’s mission to oversee the spiritual life of its congregation, from baptism through death.

  • The columbarium is a permanent stone structure designed to hold urns containing cremated remains while providing loved ones with a place for remembrance and reflection.

  • The columbarium is located between the church sanctuary and Unity Hall on the east side of the grounds.

  • Spiritual Site for Final Resting

The columbarium affords church members and their families the opportunity to select their final resting place in the shadow of the church which has been central to their lives, a sacred site where their loved ones can visit at any time.

    Simplicity of Planning

The purchase of a columbarium niche eliminates the pressure of choosing a burial site, casket, vault and monument. There is also no need to plan for Inurnment and memorial services at different times and locations.

    Faithful Stewardship

Significant costs are limited to cremation, the niche and the obituary.

    Green Alternative

Many are looking for environmentally friendly options for all aspects of life. Cremation uses fewer resources than burial and does not tie up land eternally.

  • Request a Columbarium Packet from the church office. The packet contains all the information you will need to complete the enclosed application, including the Columbarium Governance and an Application for Right of Inurnment. After you have returned your completed application you will be contacted by the office with additional forms to finalize your application and complete your payment. Upon final payment and receipt of all forms, you will receive your Certificate for Right of Inurnment.

  • Depending upon the availability at the time of purchase, you may select an individual location of niche or niches. Niche location will be recorded on the Certificate for Right of Inurnment as well as the church’s internal records.

  • The church, through its pastors and designated staff, shall arrange with the family of the deceased for the inurnment of the cremains and a committal service. The pastors shall have complete control for all religious services of committal.

  • Flower and/or plants shall only be placed by the columbarium at the time of the service and for a maximum of 3 days following inurnment. Flowers for the sanctuary communion table are suggested as an appropriate means of honoring the deceased. You may contact the church office to make this request.

  • A private niche, able to hold one or two urns, is $2000.

There is an additional $500 per person administrative fee which covers the cost of a brass urn, shipment of the stone front, and engraving costs.

    1 person total cost = $2500

    2 people total cost = $3000

The columbarium is self-funded. Proceeds from niches are used to pay back construction costs, administrative expenses, and for perpetual care, as required by state law.
